First Blog Post….

Hi everyone!  Thank you for visiting my new website and blog!  Things have been very exciting recently.

This past Sunday I actually performed at Dodger Stadium!  It is always such fun getting to perform there.  I was so honored that they emailed me and asked me to come in for the 7th inning stretch to sing "God Bless America".  Wynonna Judd actually sang the National Anthem prior to the game, and there were 44,713 fans in attendance!  The staff at Dodger Stadium are SUCH wonderful people, too, and really make the experience that much more rewarding.

We arrived at noon for a 1:10 PM game.  I met with the famous Nancy Bea, the organist for the Dodgers, as well as the staff in the sound room (who actually remembered me from last time and asked me about members of our family!)  Nancy was as sweet as ever and even let us take a picture with her and her hubby, Bill.  She actually asked to take a picture with us using her phone, too!

Afterwards, we went and enjoyed the game until my call at the top of the 6th.  The coordinator came and took me down to the field where I saw the wonderful Sound Engineer, Danny.  Danny is the absolute sweetest man ever and even remembered my daughter's names from some of the last times I sang there - and even was so thoughtful to have brought gifts for them!

We ran through the song one more time to check the levels on the in-ear monitors and then waited for the end of the top of the 7th.  Unfortunately, something was happening with my in-ears and they were picking up some interference from the security guards' walkie talkies.  We stepped away from them and it seemed to clear up the issue…

I took the field and waited for my cue to begin singing.  Once the music started, I began the song… and a few words into it, the static came back with a force!  I tried to just ignore it and keep singing, but I actually couldn't hear the music very well.  Hopefully it didn't come across in my singing!  These things do tend to happen, so you just have to make the best of it! :)

After the song was over, I left the field and the fans actually stopped me to take pictures and sign autographs.  That was such an honor!  I actually did a double take not knowing if maybe there was someone famous behind me that I may not have seen… lol.

All in all, it was a great day.  I hope I get the chance to do it again soon sometime!

In case you missed it, here is a video from the performance!  It also aired in its entirety on AM570!
